Toshiba usually ship their computers with Win XP Recovery CDs or Win XP Recovery DVDs (also known as hard drive Recovery CDs, hard drive Restore CDs, hard drive data Restore CDs, hard drive Recovery DVDs, hard drive Restore DVDs or hard drive data Restore DVDs ). The Toshiba Win XP Recovery CDs & Toshiba Win XP Recovery DVDs are specifically designed for your Toshiba computer, usually contain an image of what was on the computers hard drive when it was first bought. They allow you to return the machine to its original state (as new). This is particularly useful if the machine has been attacked by a virus, if the original hard drive has developed a fault, or if you simply wish to replace or upgrade the hard drive, & need to re-install your original software.
The Toshiba Recovery CDs & Toshiba Recovery DVDs are also sometimes referred to as Win XP installation CDs or Win XP installation DVDs because they completely erase the contents of your hard drive & then re-install your operating system (Win XP). However, they differ from normal Win XP installation disks in that they usually Restore all programs which were originally installed on the hard drive when the computer was first purchased (any additional programs or files which were not originally installed will be overwritten).

This is because; if your PC has been attacked by a virus, or worse still; is infected with a virus which you cannot remove, the best course of action is often to re-install Win XP from your Toshiba Recovery CDs or Toshiba Win XP Recovery DVD & then install quality anti virus & anti spyware programs .
If your computer has a faulty hard disk drive (eg; if the hard drive cannot be "seen" by the computer, if it has bad sectors, bad blocks or is making a clicking or loud whirling noise), the best course of action is usually to completely replace the hard drive & Restore Win XP & the original software from your hard drive data Recovery CD or Toshiba Win XP Recovery DVD. Drivers simply tell the computer about items which are built into it (such as a sound card; for producing sound, video card for producing graphics etc), or attached to it (such as a scanner or printer). Our Win XP Re-installation CDs, Win XP Restore CDs or Win XP Recovery CDs will not work with systems which do not have a legitimate Win XP Product Key (the Win XP Product Key contains 25 characters & is printed on a label which is attached to the Top, Side or Rear of a PC case or on a Notebook Base).
