Sony Vaio Computers often ship with one or more Sony Vaio Win XP Recovery CDs (also known as Sony Vaio hard drive Recovery CDs or Sony Vaio hard drive Restore CDs). The Sony Vaio Recovery CDs are specifically designed for your Sony Vaio computer, usually contain an image of what was on the hard drive when it was first bought, & they allow you to return the Sony Vaio to its original state (as new). This is particularly useful if the machine has been attacked by a virus, if the original Sony Vaio hard drive has developed a fault, or if you simply wish to replace or upgrade the hard drive, & need to re-install your original Sony Vaio software.
The Sony Vaio Recovery CDs are also sometimes referred to as Sony Vaio Win XP installation CDs because they completely erase the contents of your hard drive & then re-install your operating system (Win XP). However, they differ from normal Win XP installation disks in that they usually restore all programs which were originally installed on the Sony Vaio hard drive when the computer was first purchased (any additional programs or files which were not originally installed will be overwritten).

Sony Vaio drivers simply tell the computer about items which are built into it (such as a sound card; for producing sound, video card for producing graphics etc), or attached to it (such as a scanner or printer). One of the advantages of owning a Sony Vaio PC is that the hard drive data Recovery CD (hard drive data Restore CD) will usually contain drivers for all of the items which are built into it, & these are needed for the Sony Vaio PC to work correctly.

Our Win XP Re-installation CDs, Win XP Restore CDs or Win XP Recovery CDs will not work with systems which do not have a legitimate Win XP Product Key (the Win XP Product Key contains 25 characters & is printed on a label which is attached to the Top, Side or Rear of a PC case or on a Notebook Base).
